Welcome!

Hello, my name is Jen.

I randomly decided to start this blog under the name of what-if I play my cards right-may one day be my production company. Though, right now it's more of a review and suggestion compilation on subjects I enjoy.

If you're looking for information on a movie/tv/book/videogame, you can find it under that particular page tab. I'll make sure to post an update on the main page every time I post anything new.

Other than that, what you'll find on the main page are updates about what I'm doing in terms of my career. Writings I'm working on, projects I'm involved with, etc.

Volumes 1+ Ongoing

Since I was on the subject of Bleach, I thought I'd give it a quick review. I don't think I've ever actually made it past volume 15, therefore, I can't tell you if it's still interesting or if the series has gotten stale and boring. However, people are still buying the manga, merchandise, and Cartoon Network is still airing new episodes of the anime. So, despite whether it's creative juices are still flowing or not, it's still popular, so it should be given some credit.

I will agree with those who say it starts out slow. The first 7-8 volumes, is kind of a get to know you of the main characters. But it has it's own story to it, a beginning and an end. While it doesn't have the action packed fighting sequences that the later volumes do, the first 8 are interesting for their character development, which is a far cry from the 40 or so people you meet in the next 20 volumes that you are scrambling to remember who is who and which division of the soul reapers their in.

The good thing about Bleach that keeps me going is the mystery and the suspense. Who is the person from Rukia's past? What's with her brother? Will the gang be able to defeat their next foe? Even though it's aimed at guys (which would explain all the lesbian-aka YURI-undertones), girls can enjoy it too.

So my suggestions is this, if you like the supernatural and enjoy fighting-style stories, then you'll enjoy Bleach.

WARNING: I'm saying this for all of those people like my sister out there who have bad memories when it comes to remembering what you've seen in tv/movies or read in books. Read closely. It will get confusing and frustrating with the large number of characters that are introduced and plot points that come back to haunt you. If you can't handle rereading, you might want to reconsider this series.
